I have been working as a private Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Highgate since 1995.
In an atmosphere of `acceptance` the client is encouraged to focus and explore his/ her problems. By examining the roots of any `difficult` feeling, the causes may be understood, leading to more distance and a loosening of the apparent power of resistent behaviours.
By encouraging the capacity for `self-empowerment`, the client is enabled to challenge any behaviours and ideas which are blocking the sense of well-being. Through focussing on their own innate strengths, which have been neglected, the client learns to develop ways of dealing with life, which give more freedom and choice.
My approach uses a variety of disciplines in particular:
Person-centred, Existential and Humanistic approaches.
As a member of BACP (affiliated) I agree to abide by their Code of Ethics. I use an Accredited Supervisor to review my work regularly, to ensure a high standard of proficiency. Also I am a member of the `Association of Humanistic Psychology` (affiliated).
